Parvicursor remotus

The shortest

Parvicursor was a small Τheropod dinosaur, the total length of which did not exceed 39 cm. Its name means "small runner” since he had long and slender legs.

Like other members of this group, its forelimbs were short and stubby, with a single large claw, possibly useful for digging. This claw could not have served much for defense, as it was short and not adapted for flexible movements.

Parvicursor lived in the late Cretaceous, 100- 66 million years ago, and was found in Mongolia. It is known from one incomplete skeleton, containing mostly pelvis and hind legs.
