A modern seismic table of 12 m2 surface area is operating at NHMC that can simulate real earthquakes in a totally safe environment. The table represents a school classroom where visitors can experience an educational program specially developed for the earthquake awareness and preparedness that offers the necessary information through video projections and five earthquakes. Depending on visitors’ abilities the table can simulate the Kobe 1995 (6,9 R), the Chichi Taiwan 1999 (7,3R) and the Sendai Japan 2011 (9R) earthquakes.
