A typical skink with a rounded body and reduce limps which may reach 30cm in length. Its colour is usually shinny golden-yellow with small black spots crossed by a white stripe. Its shinny colour and serpent – like movements, due to its short limps, have contributed to the wide spread superstition that it is venomous.
