Golden Jackal, Canis aureus

The Jackal becomes active at night in open, shrubby and arboreous areas. Preys occasionally on small vertebrates, but more commonly it can be found eating carcasses, invertebrates, and fruits. It is bothered both by human activity and by the presence of larger carnivores (e.g. wolf).
