Cretan Wildcat, Felis silvestris cretensis

The Cretan wildcat lives on the mountains of Crete and preys upon small mammals and birds. It has intermediate characteristics between the European and the African wildcats.
Irrational opening of dirt tracks as well as illegal poisoning have further restricted its distribution.
