Aoudad, Ammotragus lervia

Distributed throughout North Africa in rocky areas, gorges and ravines, this species of goat lives in small groups, and, like most desert herbivores, experiences its peaks of activity early in the morning and late in the evening. Hunting has reduced its populations. Populations introduced to Mexico, Canary islands, New Zealand and the U.S.A. are considered as invasive.
