A relative of the raven. Lives in high mountains, though in winter descends to lower terrains. Forms noisy flocks. Feeds mainly on insects that accompany both grazing animals and their excrements. Nesting in exclusive cavities on cliffs or in cave openings. Its populations have greatly decreased in many European regions and in mainland Greece.
